Tinted lip balms are all over the Internet right now, probably because of Summer Fridays and Rhode.
And of course, Dot & Key always keeps up with these trends, so these lip balms were very much expected!
I received these lip balms few weeks ago, and I see a lot of hype around these right now, so thought of sharing my opinion on the same.
Let’s start with :
Table of Contents
Packaging
The packaging is very plain and generic. It has a tilted tip so you can directly glide over your lips very easily.
Texture
The texture is very smooth and even, that spreads like butter on your lips.
Finish
I really adore the finish of these lip balms. They give a very beautiful glossy effect and are totally non-sticky.
Coming to the:
Good part
- Well moisturising:
Despite being one of those fancy lip balms, I really love the way it takes care of my lips. Even when I directly apply it on my dry and flaky lips, it gives a relief and reduces the dryness within few minutes of application.
So it’s not just about the way it makes your lips look. It actually takes care of them.
- Lovely Tint:
The tint it gives on the lips, look extremely pretty and natural. Coz of the glossy finish, the tint creates a beautiful sheen on the lips.
- No Overpowering Scent:
All the variants have a very mellow fruity scent, that will not over power and they don’t taste weird as well (If that is something you need to know as well)
- Impressive Ingredients:
Dot & Key actually did a great job with the ingredients! I’m yet to see any other local lip balm that has such cool ingredients like peptides, hyaluronic acid, ceramides and UV filters too! Absolutely amazing!
Bad Part
- Extremely poor longevity:
The major and the only issue I have with these, is that these lip balms DON’T STAY!
Within 10 minutes of application, I already feel them fading away from my lips.
Dot & Key took care of almost all the aspect, but I feel they missed it, on longevity.
If you’d like to know:
- These lip balms don’t stain. So if you’re taking them off, your lips would be back to normal.
- If you’re specifically buying it for the glossy effects, I’ll suggest investing in a lip gloss instead.
- It does have artificial colour and scents, so I’m not sure how it’ll go with sensitive lips.
- If you have pigmented lips, only the red colour will show up. Brown will be almost invisible.
Overall:
I’d like to give it a 4/5 rating.
(I would have deducted more, but considering the price at which you get it, I gave it a 4)
I wish they lasted for a long time, coz reapplying it again and again is not something many would prefer doing.
Apart from longevity, these lip balms surely are beautiful!
That’s All!
